Unforgetable Fashion Icons

Some of the most renowned fashion icons never really knew or expected they would be considered icons at some point in history. It is impossible to imagine fashion without its Hollywood influence; and vice versa. There are some mystic characters whose style went a little further away then the big screen, straight to the sales rack in every kind of store.

The most recent example can be the leathered jacket style worn by Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones; seen and admired for two decades but today with the new movie, it was reborn. Another leather jacket is James Dean's in Rebel without a cause; this 1954 icon was a favorite amongst the younger crowd. For the more classic men, Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca was the perfect model to follow.

Aviator glasses like Tom Cruise's on Top Gun were a sensation in the 80's and it has been brought back to these days. Black glasses and long black coats remind today's generation of Neo on the Matrix movies.

Colors also play a big role in identifying fashion icon followers; especially the sexiest women in film. Black for example, makes you think of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's as well as white on the other hand, which covered the most desirable body in Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe and her famous scene in The Seven Year Itch, the most recreated scene in Hollywood history. Pastels are reminded of the elegance that Jackie-O transported everywhere she went with her regal and classic style.

Twiggy and Edie Sedgwick were the Mod type girls from the hippie 60's, inspiring originality and creativity everywhere they were seen, even with their hairstyles. Sienna Miller and Kirsten Dunst could be a good representation of their style in the new millennium. Another icon remembered for her hair was Farah Fawcett with the famous "Farrah-do".

In the 80's, no other than teen-queen Molly Ringwald and her 1985 must have boots in The Breakfast Club or her signature fedoras in Sixteen Candles made her a fashion icon with her eccentric but stylish look that is still favorable today.

Today, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwen Stefani are favorites with their unique styles that inspire confidence and ownership of their styles and personalities. With Sex and the City, Parker has embarked on the adventure of inspiring women everywhere to wear headpieces, wear dresses over other pieces of clothing, wear clothes that clash and always love your shoes. Stefani on the other hand, owns her punk chic personality with her unique confident style that even brought her to create her own fashion line.

Some icons are born on the red carpet, who can forget Julia Roberts' vintage Valentino dress while picking up her Oscar for Erin Brokovich, Sharon Stone's pairing a Gap T-shirt with a Valentino skirt or even Bjork's infamous but memorable swan dress.

You can also be a memorable fashion icon among your own social group by daring to wear unique styles that reflect your personality with just a glance.
